Sheridan Township Board of Trustee’s
Special Meeting
January 30, 2020
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Richard Porter @ 12:00 p.m.
Pledge: The pledge was said.
Present: Roll call Randy Fisher, Scott Frederick, Shanna Pollman, and Richard Porter.
Absent: None
Approval of Agenda: A motion was made by Randy Fisher, 2nd by Scott Frederick to approve the agenda as presented. The motion passed.
New Business: The interview of Stephanie Craig as the potential clerk appointment to finish the clerk term and to possibly run for the future clerk position, the Township is looking for someone for the long term. Stephanie gave the board a background history of herself of her family and previous work experience. She was told about training for the clerk position and training for the elections. There was discussion of her duties and responsibilities. A motion was made by Scott Frederick, 2nd by Randy Fisher to appoint Stephanie Craig as Clerk. Roll call vote –Yes - Richard Porter, Shanna Pollman, Scott Frederick, and Randy Fisher. The motion passed.
-There was discussion about the closure of 24 Mile Road. Supervisor Porter is to talk to M-DOT about the report that was done.
-There was a discussion about temporarily filling the Zoning Administration. Tyler Collins has showed interest in the position along with his position as a full time Fireman. There was talk of kind of wanting a zoning person with a police background and Tyler will fit that qualification. Supervisor Porter will talk with Tyler Collins.
-Supervisor Porter told the board that he has requested that Sheridan Township take $100.00 out of petty cash and put it toward a donation to the Calhoun County Sheriff K-9 Project in memory of the late Zoning Administrator/IT/Clerk Wes Cuatt who unexpectedly passed away on Saturday January 25, 2020.
-Supervisor Porter reported that the Solar Company Ranger Power is still moving forward with looking into the Tax Abatement.
-Robyn Kuikowski Sheridan Township Assessor gave information on a possible IT person to look into. Supervisor Porter will also be talking with Janet Cuatt for possible people.
Adjourn: A motion was made to adjourn by Randy Fisher, 2nd by Scott Frederick @ 1:35. The motion passed.
